The Ferryhill and Chilton Chapter is managed by Community Newspaper Support CIC, an independent publisher of three local community newspapers in South West Durham.
The free paper was established as a quarterly magazine in the early 1990’s, then went monthly, fortnightly and finally weekly as it became more and more popular.
In September 2010, the first issue of The Chapter was printed in full colour, so the same degree of detail was made available in the delivered copies as appears here on the website.
8,000 copies of The Ferryhill and Chilton Chapter are now produced and delivered free to every home in Ferryhill, Chilton and surrounding areas every week.
The paper is published weekly, on a Friday and the estimated readership is over 27,000.
As well as readers in the UK, The Ferryhill and Chilton Chapter website has regular visits from the USA, Canada, Australia, Spain, Norway and Austria as ex-pats check out what’s happening ‘back home’.
You can read The Ferryhill and Chilton Chapter Newspaper here every week. The pdf file copy is uploaded as soon as it’s available. In the unlikely event of it being delayed, please allow a few days for us to catch up.
