Would like to take this oppurtunity to sympathise with the pensioner who had his coping stones pinched.(letters 14.9.12)
We fellow pensioners have suffered at the hands of mindless morons, very petty but they have pinched 2 doorbells from our front door in the last couple of months. What is one to do?

I enjoy reading your posts as I have a very vested interest in anything Ferryhill. My grandparents (John Elliott Hogg and Barbara Sproats) were married at St. Lukes in 1864 (or therebouts)and lived in Ferryhill for some time before the Salvation Army sent him to the US. I would love to know if I have any distant relatives in or around the area and would like to hear from them. I enjoy any news or photographs (old and new) from the area.

Hi to the good people of Ferryhill.
I was born and bred in Ferryhill untill I left in 1973 to take up a teaching post in the West Midlands.
Would love to hear from anyone who may remember me at either Dean Bank Boys School or Ferryhill Grammar Technical School.
I still go back when I am up that way on holiday in N. Yorks.
Take care all :o
